Introduction Carbon black is an amorphous material, that is produced from an incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of heavy petroleum products. It is an essential component, in manufacturing different industrial goods, including plastics, tyres, coatings, etc. However, production of the traditional carbon black does generate a significant amount of emissions, while consuming a sizable proportion of natural and energy resources. The growing concerns of climate change in recent years have escalated the need for a better alternative and optimised carbon black usage and production.
